This is great for them if they honor the return game. A lot of FIU's return games seem to be set in the future around 2014-2017ish, giving the teams plenty of time to buy out.
Regards to all.  Just to clarify some info in relationship with the return games.  There are two games particularly subject to being bought out, which are Texas A&M in 2013, and Pitt in 2014.  Here is a look at the first year 'return games' with each college contracted already:

Rutgers return game is next season in 2010.  UCF plays first at FIU (2010), Louisville first of two return game is in 2012 (FIU visits there first the previous year in 2011), Duke will come to The Cage first in 2011, with FIU having the return game in 2012.  FIU has not scheduled any games yet (at least not publicly known) beyond 2014, when we are slated to get the return game of Pitt , while also hosting the last of the 4-game Louisville series, and @UCF.

FIU has a real nice advantage of being in Miami and having the new stadium so good for them taking advantage of that.
But the UCF series was pushed back. UCF signed the deal with Kansas St and moved FIU back so I guess its 2011-2015 now.

Cristobal inherited a disaster and I feel he is doing a good job with the hand he was dealt.

Re: FIU and Univ. of Pitt ink deal

3-9 ain't a very good job. If we think 5-7 is disappointing or even SUCKS, then what would we be saying if we were 3-9?

Those Pitt games WILL BE VERY UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are  totally right…I meant to type 2011, and erroneously typed 2010 instead, as Rutgers will be our only home game of our OOC schedule next season (if they come to FIU).  Thanks.
