It feels good don't it, when everything seems to be going well, on and off the field. You guys have been playing pretty well as of late, congras on that and your approved stadium.

You are right, we do have some pretty good leaders that will get things done, some of us are a little fustrated on how long it's taking and not playing well doesn't help either - but with Lockhart being torn down after the 2008 season, timing is of essence now, so we should get some type of news about our stadium soon as well.

It rather stinks that we still have to play OUR Shula Bowl games at Dolphin Stadium for the next 4-5 years, it takes any home advantage away from us >:(

As Bytor said it gets frustrating because it was supposed to be in 07 then in 08 then. Like everything in life its the not knowing that gets you upset. It may not happen when some of us would like but it will happen.

The positive of playing in Dolphin stadium is 1. it gives it a true bowl type atmosphere being a natural place. 2, it king of takes on and can grow into that UF vs Georgia rivalry game played in Jax.

Fanatic I was on your boards last night and that was some nice kuddo's about Schnelly and Buddy. our sincere thanks. I know some of you guys post on the Rivals boards as well did they know it was the same guy as Blue2?

I understand where your frustration is coming from, believe me. But I still think, being as objective as I possibly can, that something will happen and will get done up at FAU. Maybe the dome, maybe some other option, which might not be bad, after all. Your leaders, sorry to repeat, are proven leaders, and I would be really, really, shocked if they drop the ball completely, making FAU go back to IAA or something terrible like that. I don't see it happening….

that much longer to play your home portion of the Shula Bowl at the Dolphin Stadium?..I thought it was 3 or 4 times only. Wow! Anyways, good luck tonight, as I hope the Florida schools start making some noise….starting TONIGHT!!

Talon, yes, I knew Blue2 was OG Owl. I don't know if many others, besides devonsmom, FIU'ers visit that Florida high school site, though.

FIU has the right idea. Maybe people will finally start to see the light and realize that FAU has taken way too long to get things done. I have always been a proponent of the type of plan FIU is putting into place. It makes way more sense than the over the top innovation village. I said under a different link that FIU is quickly passing FAU by and I think it is now more clear than ever. Congrats to FIU. Now, lets get FAU in gear and make this thing happen for us. GO OWLS!!!

I say if the dome is still in the plans, build a minimum stadium 15-16000. That will at least satisfy the D1A attendance issue and minimize the capital output. This will then become a nice soccer venue or local highschool football games. I don't think there is any need to go more than 15-16K for a temporary solution for a home field and chances are that is all the seating capacity needed for a while. FIU's first phase will be 20K but this will be a permanent fixture which they will add to in the future.

Money ($$$) is the biggest issue here.

I have always supported the 20,000 expandable stadium idea.

No matter what happens money will need to be invested to build even a temp. stadium. At 15,000 it would be fine if it is built the right way. Temporary for the football team, but a permanent fixture on campus. It is still a $10 million project even if it is done as simplistic as possible. GO OWLS!!!

$10-15 mil sounds like something that can be done with an aggressive fund raising campaign plus other sources of revenue like ticket sales and concessions.

I agree, that is why I think it needs to get done. Something needs to be in place asap. FAU cannot play at a local high school. That would be an absolute joke. Barring any miracles, the best we can hope for at this time is for something in place for the home opener of 2008. GO OWLS!!!

It will be interesting to see what solutions they come up with. We already know something has to be done or they will either be playing on the practice fields, Boca High stadium, or at the very worst, no home games for a year or two.

The ball is in the trustees court right now. Lets see where they go with this.

We have all talked about ideas in the Dome thread, If you go back and look at what has been discussed is resurfacing with its seems more people in favor of GET IT DONE. I said back then and I still believe you won't see a dome until 2015 - 2020. The program is not getting enough support. FAU is very young and unless someone like Donald Trump walks in, it is going to be a while. The current soccer field is nice and a nice location the new track is unobstructed by the baseball practice fields that someone mentioned before back in the spring. Either one will still need some type of concession, restroom, and press facilities. Benedict in south Carolina just built from the ground up entire football stadium for 10K for around 13Mil. and this thing looks fantastic. I know 10 K isn't enough but if you use the soccer or track field the field is there, which in itself is time consuming and expensive. the lights are in place at the soccer field you may have to add a few, (not sure what is going in at the track). It is almost the situation FIU was in except they are also coming from the ground up. They are if I'm not mistaken moving the field and everything. The BOT can throw a band-aid on this situation but do it on campus and that would relieve pressure to do the other the right way and perhaps keep from cutting corners to meet a deadline.
