Toledo wins on a missed 26 yard FG by Michigan.  Wow.  First App State last year and now a home loss to Toledo.

Not sure it means anything to FIU.  Does football even have an RPI?  It matters in basketball in regard the NCAA's, but all that matters in football is wins. This is the same Toledo team that was shut out at home last week by Ball State.  More then anything it just proves that any team can beat any other team on any given Saturday.

I'd be proud of it if I were FIU…but winning by degrees of separation is tricky…according to that we should have beaten ULM and Oklahoma State.

There used to be a website, cant remember it and dont know what to google, that used to let you put two teams in and see how many degrees of separation there were between beating them…I think FAU had like 6 degrees of separation last year from beating UF.

Selection committes do take into account caliber of opponents, yes…but it obviously isn't called that, just using a familiar term

When FIU beat Toledo I said that Toledo was a good team and a nice victory for FIU. Some people were critical in saying that Toledo is not really a good team.

Not one to say I told you so, but yeah, I still stick by it that Toledo is a pretty good team even if Michigan is in a down year.

You used to be able to get that from Massey Ratings – he's one of the BCS computers – but it hasn't been working in a while, although he still has the webpage up.
