FIU signs Rivals' No.8 linebacker in the Nation

FIU will keep outrecruiting us…..and to tell you the truth it doesn't matter one bit.

FAU will continue to outplay them.  Case closed.

HS loves to talk about how his team at Miami would have had zero stars.

Some teams get great players, we make them.

ESPN.com bought scout.com and uses their rankings.  Rankings…stars…it's all the same meaningless garbage.

Thank you for that point…and BTW, here is the list they have at present:

What, is it 9:43PM on signing day??

BTW, Flash has been off the list for over a week…are they in "the know"?  Not form a recruiting perspective, and certainly not from an evaluation perspective.

Rivals:

Wayne Times

One offer, besides FIU, to an NCAA Div 1 school.  Three stars.

Kenneth Dillard

No offers except FIU.  Three stars.

Rupert Bryan

No offers except FIU.  Three stars.

Thatcher Starling

Offers: FIU (beat em) ULM (beat em) WMU (beat em in a BOWL) UAB (beat em) AZ, and Wyoming.  Three stars.

Please stop the madness of "stars".  It means truly nothing, and that is the ONLY thing that places FIU ahead of us head to head in class rankings?

Not sure where your chart is from, but ESPN does not have Flash as signed. He is listed as a verbal, which he was. FAU simply didn't offer.

So far that has been the case. Lets hope it continues.

I don't want to argue too much about stars but recruiters go to games to watch the players at game time.  They may watch several games or a whole season or more. They also watch game films and game highlites. Thats how they assess the players. They don't read Rivals or scout.

So who knows how accurate the whole ranking, ratings and stars thing is. I personally don't know.

My argument is not that is accurate, but it isn't completely arbitrary either. The system is based on something and I don't think we would be so quick to ridicule if FAU had signed a few four star guys or a few guys rated in the top 10 at their position. I am sure most if not all of us would be talking about the studs that FAU signed.

If you look at the "Signed LOI?" column, there is no check mark as you should see. None of the recruits are shown as signed hours after the last LOI was signed. Flash shouldn't even be on there.

This chart is from Scout. Other Universities right now have check marks next to all the ones that signed in the LOI column.

Don't be too surprised if some offers were pulled because of grades.

In the end the offer wasn't there.

That explains it. I don't look at Scout or Rivals. I look at ESPN and I guess despite owning Scout ESPN actually has better and more up to date info than Scout.
