Re: FIU

FIU

Hats off to them but also luck plays a factor.  They are at their best this year and have probably the easiest schedule they have had.  Schedules are made years in advance so when everything falls into place just right it works.

Louisville is a bad BCS team, but still you want to win that.  It was like when we beat a bad Minnesota team in 2007.  If we had UCF, Akron, Duke, and Minnesota that year, we would have been in the same position.  Luck of scheduling is great.  I wish we had luck of scheduling.  I would take it!!

Sometimes you can get an easier schedule and you happen to be bad that year, and when you are good and the schedule works out, it would be a fun time to experience.

Re: FIU

If you watched FIU last year you saw that they literally took Texas A&M to the wire ON THE ROAD - a game that had completely wrapped up. They blew a game against Rutgers they should have easily won and played Maryland and Pitt very tough on the road. They are now turning those close calls around and are learning to win. I wouldn't put it all on "luck" or the "ease of the schedule". The team doesn't appear to play "advanced training games", they play to win. They have a legitimate D1 roster that could do fairly well in some other conferences. Hats off to them - Cristobal has done a masterful job with that program.
