Football: Action for Sept. 11th, 2010

There are about 3 Games that could have gone either way.  We are showing the other conferences we're no longer the push over conference.  FIU, UNT are showing that they are no longer push overs either.  Those are going to be great games.

As much as it pains me to say it, FIU SHOULD have won that game. They had way too many turnovers, giving Rutgers more opportunities to score. If FIU had cut down on the mistakes, they win that game no problem

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Wow.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

OSU could not stop Troy's offense, but Troy's defense would either let OSU score or get a turnover from it.

Troy's last four possessions ended at the OSU 3 (Jerrel Jernigan was down but the refs said his knee was on a player rather than the turf and called a late stripping a fumble); then the 10 (QB Robinson) dropped the snap for a fumble; and the OSU 30 (another fumble); and finally, Troy scored on a fourth-down TD pass and got the 2-point conversion to make it a 3-point game.

OSU then drove into Troy territory and was in the victory formation when the cowboys QB couldn't handle the snap and a Troy defender blasted him and got the ball. Troy had the ball around its own 35 with :53 to play when Robinson was hit from behind as he threw. The refs (thanks Big 12) again called it a fumble. Game finally over.

Jernigan is amazing. He caght passes, ran the wildcat and made the game winnable for Troy. But he also fumbled twice on key drives (both times going for extra yardage), and scored on a 100-yard kick return.

Mike Gundy on Troy after the game:
"They're as athletic as eight teams in the old Big 12. They have enough skill players to where they can make plays.

"I wouldn't be fired up about scheduling them any more."
