Sun Belt Football: Games for Sept. 25th, 2010

Here's the Sun Belt lineup for Saturday. Teams in bold are the desired winners for the Owls. Either by a SOS booster with a victory, or taking a lump and helping out in the standings with a loss - aside from ULM.

Florida International (0-2) vs Maryland (2-1) @ 12:00 p.m. - ESPNU

Terps Make Final Prep For FIU

An FIU win would help the Conference SOS overall, so going with the Panthers - *cringe*.

Arkansas State (1-2) vs Troy (1-2) @ 3:30 p.m. - Sun Belt Network

Sun Belt Network Game of the Week Features Red Wolves-Trojans

Troy is always the desired candidate to lose in a conference game, and hope the Red Wolves prevail.

North Texas (0-3) vs Florida Atlantic (1-1) @ 7:00 p.m. - None

North Texas vs FAU Preview

The Owls should be a lock against North Texas, but history says else wise.

Middle Tennessee (1-2) vs Louisiana (1-1) @ 7:00 p.m. - None

Blue Raiders limp into Louisiana to open Sun Belt play

MTSU and UL is a toss up at this point, but given Dasher's likely return, go Cajuns!

Southeastern Louisiana (1-2) vs Louisiana Monroe (0-2) @ 7:00 p.m.

Southeastern To Renew Gridiron Rivalry With UL-Monroe

Why are the Warhawks playing this game? Bad idea to revert to a "rivalry" that means nothing to long term objectives.

Western Kentucky (0-3) vs South Florida (1-1) @ 7:05 p.m.

Hilltoppers Set To Battle USF Saturday Night In Tampa

A Hilltopper upset would not only end a ridiculous 23 game losing streak, but also give ESPN commentators heartburn.

Enjoy your Saturday…….

FIU is looking pretty good against the Terps. Granted Maryland is starting a RS Fresh QB but still, the Kitties are showing they are legit. I'm glad we get them a little earlier this year, hopefully they haven't figured out the "coaching" issues by then.

Maryland is not a great team and they seemed to handle FIU's defense pretty well, scoring 42 points. This was the game FIU was supposed to win in starting their first 4 games against BCS opponents. I do think they should be pretty strong in conference play though.

Dominated the stats but just like our D, gave up LOTS of big plays!

Maryland REALLY sucked last year, how fat boy keeps his job is a real mystery. And even in this win, if they falter (fall apart) again like last year, this game won't help his cause at all, to be so dominated at home by FIU!
