Sun Belt Football: Games for Week of November 03, 2012

Week Ten will mark the second straight period with no byes, and all programs taking the field.

In what has become a regular occurrence as of late, our midweek contest will air on Wednesday with the Blue Raiders at Western Kentucky on ESPNU.

For Saturday, there are two non conference contests with Troy taking on the Volunteers in Knoxville at high noon before the Owls try to sink Navy's triple option attack.

Then in league action, the Panthers will be looking for their first win at South Alabama, the Ragin' Cajuns and Warhawks duke it out in Monroe, and the Red Wolves travel to Denton for a showdown against the Mean Green.

All three games should prove to be entertaining match-ups.

Here's the full line-up:

November 1st

MSTU 34  WKU 29

November 3rd

Troy 48  Tennessee 55

USA 20  FIU 28

Florida Atlantic 17  Navy 24

ULL 40  ULM 24

Arkansas State 37  North Texas 19

Enjoy the games!

MTSU 10  WKU 7

End 1st

The Blue Raiders are looking good with the ground game…dominate the first quarter in TOP 10:36 to 4:34, putting up 199 yards total - 123 of which replacement back Jordan Parker claims.

So much for falling apart when Cunningham went down. MTSU has ran the ball 22 times and attempted just three passes.

Will say though, expected a better performance from WKU's defense.

HALFTIME:

MTSU 17  WKU 17

This is more like it…The Hilltoppers answer with a quarter of their own thanks to a healthy passing display, and a 29 yard field goal from Garrett Schwettman.

FINAL:

MSTU 34  WKU 29

Thanks to a 96 yard fourth qurter kick off return by Reggie Whatley, the Blue Raiders (6-3, 4-1) win to take sole possession of 2nd place in the league standings behind ULM, and become the third SBC team to become bowl eligible as well.

Kewan Jakes threw for 283 YDS and 3 TD in the loss for the Hilltoppers, but threw an interception with under two minutes remaining during a would be go ahead drive.

WKU (6-3, 3-2) amassed a 438 to 342 yard advantage overall.

Re: Sun Belt Football: Games for Week of November 03, 2012

ULM, WKU, MTSU, and ASU have had outstanding years. We will be in that group in a couple of years. Last weeks game gave me so much hope for this team.  I was really having a hard time staying positive and I'm just a fan. I can only imagine what was in the heads of the players. Coach P now knows where he needs to add players and where he is set. A solid recruiting class this year will set the tone for FAU's future. Bob Marley said , " everything gonna be all right", and I now believe that.
