Further news regarding adding Texas St. to the Belt;

Report: Texas State to join Sun Belt Conference in 2013

They offer just as much as North Texas to the Belt.  Been to that campus, its a beautiful school and is on the rise.

I would love to have Texas State and FAU play each year! yay!

Texas St. sure sounds better name wise than North Texas at least! With S. Bama, Ga. St. and now Texas St. that should be three wins a year for a while!

I dont know about that, these are large schools in good recruiting areas with resources.  I imagine these schools will grow and succeed quickly.

To round the conference off at 12 teams -  2 schools from the FCS that would be great choices are App state and GA Southern.  They've both been dominant programs in FCS for several years with loyal fan bases.

Two more FCS programs but they are national names and that can't hurt the Belt, but hell if UNC-Charlotte (sorry that will ALWAYS be their name TO ME) can blow the Belt off for a better bid…

Coastal Carolina University (CCU or Coastal) is an independent, state-supported, liberal arts university in Conway, South Carolina, USA, located eight miles (13 km) west of Myrtle Beach. Founded in 1954, Coastal became an independent university in 1993. The University enrolls approximately 8,300 students on its 307-acre (1.24 km2) campus. Baccalaureate programs are offered in 51 major fields of study, along with graduate programs in education, business administration (MBA), coastal marine and wetland studies, and writing.
The school is composed of its main campus in Conway and also offers courses in Litchfield, Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. The University is a Sea-grant institute and owns part of Waties Island, a 1,105-acre (4.47 km2) barrier island which serves as a natural laboratory. Coastal Carolina is also the home of the Scholars Academy, a high school program for gifted students.

Reminds me of FAU.
