2012 FAU Softball Schedule
HOPEFULLY with anew AD things will ,improve dramatically - being worst in the Belt in most sports IS a reflection on our past "leadership", if that is what you want to call it. And for nearly $200K a year - OUCH was FAU getting screwed!

Re: 2012 FAU Softball Schedule
Taylor Fawbush tossed no-hitter for the Owls in the lead-off contest, and was 2-of-3 at the plate with 1RBI.
But the Jaguars (18-9, 6-2) cashed in off three Owl errors to help their cause.
The Owls jumped on the board with two scores in their first at bat in game two, and would later add solo runs in the 4th and 5th innings to secure the victory.
Florida Atlantic (11-24, 1-5) had a strong showing offensively with nine hits, allowing them to snap a six game slide and pick up their first Sun Belt win on the year.
Samantha Messer got the win for FAU with Fawbush pitching two innings in relief.
DP Jordan Stovall was 1-of-3 at the plate with 2RBI.
Game three of the series is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start tomorrow.

Re: 2012 FAU Softball Schedule
After the Jaguars scored the game’s first run in the first inning, the Owls would take control in the fourth.
Alexa Ballard singled to bring in Taylor Fawbush, and Quincy Wilson placed a double into left filed that scored two more and had FAU on top 3-1.
But five USA hits and two Owl errors in the top of the sixth saw that change to a 7-3 advantage for the Jaguars.
The visitors would add another run in the seventh inning.
Paige Pender, (5.1IP, 6H, 4ER, 3K) was the losing pitcher for Florida Atlantic (11-25, 1-6).
FAU returns to action on Friday, April 6th at 5:00 p.m. against North Texas in the first of a three game series.

Re: 2012 FAU Softball Schedule
FAU (12-27, 2-8) managed just two hits for the game.
The Mean Green took a 2-0 lead in the first inning before Florida Atlantic's Jordan Stovall connected on her second home run of the series to cut the lead in half in the second.
But UNT (17-18-1, 8-6-1) pounced for seven more runs in their next trip to the plate, effectively putting the game, which was called after five innings, away.
The team will next return to Boca Raton, where they will play host to Troy in a three game set that begins with a double header on Saturday. The start time for game one is 6:00 p.m.

After three scoreless innings in game one, Troy (26-16, 6-9) scored two runs in their next pair of trips to the plate to take a 4-0 lead in the fifth frame.
FAU got on the board in the bottom of the inning off an RBI double by Jordan Stovall to trim the margin, but the Trojans homered in the sixth to keep pace.
Florida Atlantic mounted a rally in their final two at bats, scoring three runs to pull within a score, but fell short in the eighth by leaving the tying run on third.
Taylor Fawbush (5-12) took the loss for the Owls.
Florida Atlantic (13-28, 3-9) overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first inning of game two, scoring three runs in their first two turns at bat to lead the rest of the way.
The Trojans netted a final run in the third, but FAU secured the game with a three run fourth.
Laura Mann was 2-of-3 with 3 RBI, and Samantha Messer tossed her fourth complete game of the season to pick up the win.
The teams will meet again for game three on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
FAU will later take on a local team of Marines at 6:00 p.m. in a contest to benefit the Semper Fi Fund and raise awareness for FAU Veteran Owls.

Re: 2012 FAU Softball Schedule
Florida Atlantic (13-29, 3-10) scored their lone run in the first inning behind a Jordan Stovall SAC fly, and saw only two players with hits on the afternoon as Taylor Fawbush was 3-for-3 and Heather Barnes added a 2-for-3 performance.
Fawbush tossed a complete effort going seven innings, but surrendered 11 hits and was credited with all five runs as being earned.
Troy (27-16, 7-9) plated three runs in the third thanks to three hits, two of which were for extra bases.
They would add the remainder in the top of the seventh for the final tally.
The Owls next hit the road for a six game stand, beginning with a double header against conference leader Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
