The Cyclones raced to a 10-0 lead at the 7:44 mark of the 1st period, but then spurted the rest of the way.
Meanwhile, the Golden Hurricane moved the ball consistently, pounding out a 23-9 advantage in first downs and an impressive 317 yards by foot.
In a rare second chance appearance, TU avenged an earlier 38-23 loss to ISU which opened their 2012 slate.
A 24-0 scoring spree made that happen.

The mantra of "Hold that Tiger" paid dividends for the host team, who held LSU to just 219 yards overall.
However, in the end, it was another last second FG making the difference.

It was 28-0 before the Boilermakers found some offense. Unfortunately, when they did, the Cowboys turned it up a notch as well.
Five OSU players threw passes in a 25-of-34 performance good for 311 yards and five scores.

Tied through three periods, the Bulldogs were the only team to find the end zone in the final frame.
UGA QB Aaron Murray set a Bowl contest program record with five TD's.
Happy New Year to the Athens community, as he has another season to go before eligibility runs out.

Since taking over the Gamecocks, the "Ol' Ball Coach" has placed in team in Bowls 7-of-8 times.
Today's win marked his 19th trip to the post season as a head man, and he now stands at 9-10 overall during those contests.

Not the most exciting of games, as what offensive fireworks there were basically occurred during the first half.
The Cardinal defense kept the Badgers off the board aside from two scores in the second quarter, and tacked on an extra three points for good measure themselves with 4:23 to play.

The Cards do in fact "shock the world", rattling Gator QB Jeff Driskel for two INT's and a fumble.
Must have been a bittersweet moment for Coach Charlie Strong, who served as a UF assistant for 12 years.

QB Marcus Mariota scored three times, leading the Ducks to another Bowl win, and setting the program's single-season record for total touchdowns (38) in the process.
