Along those lines…just give Jared Allen a shot.

With Pat Chun in charge, when looking at potential replacements, looking at coaches with connections to Ohio State and Jim Tressel is probably a good place to start.  Coaches like Luke Fickell, Mike Vrabel, etc.  Also, at first I didn't think Wright would have much chance of sticking around, but then I read Dieter's tweet that Tressel is a mentor of his and he has been in contact with him.  That connection and this 4 game trial could give him a real shot at the full time job.  I guess we will see.

Anyone remember the OC who took over for Nord?  Well…call me when Heupel drops the "co" from his co-coordinator position and lets get Jared upto coordinator instead of a position coach before we promote him to head coach.  

I asked about Sims in a previous forum topic but perhaps this is more of an appropriate place.  Why do you think he wasn't given the shot as interim or perhaps HC?  Hasn't he been doing okay with recruiting?

Not really the same thing. Allen does not have the same type of experience at a major BCS program.

Vrabel just doesn't seem ready to be a HC, but I'd buy Fickell, wasn't he the interim after Tressel was fired? He's been there for a while.

I saw Zook's name suggested on a news site. He's not coaching now. You can't judge him on Illinois. Illinois is always bad. At least since I've been up here.
