The area where Rice seems to be winning is the free throw line. Rice is 8-8 at the stripe while FAU is 5-9. Rice is in the bonus for the rest of the half.

To combat FAU's size Rice has gone with a 2-3 matchup zone since the 10 minute mark and its worked as FAU has turned over the ball nine times.

Halftime: Rice 39 FAU 32. Rice closed the half by making their last 7 shots. Rice's Gerhart has 16 points. Poole leads FAU with 9 points. All year big men who shoot away from the basket has hurt FAU and Gerhart is the latest example.
