The Owls (20-3) split with Robert Morris on day one of the 2016 Parents’ Weekend Tournament.

The Colonials connected for a two out 2RBI homer in their first at bat against FAU ace Kylee Hanson. That would prove to be enough to take the contest 2-1 despite Hanson's (8-2) two hit, 15 strikeout performance from the circle.

However, Florida Atlantic took revenge in game two with a 7-0 shutout, plating three runs in the 1st inning, solo scores in both the 2nd and 3rd frames, and a pair in the fifth.

Amanda Wilson (6-1) tossed a complete game allowing only three hits.

Tatum Buckley (2-3) and Madisyn Palmer (2-2) each had 2RBI for FAU.

The Owls will be off tomorrow, resuming action against Rutgers on Saturday at 6:00 PM in the first of two games.

The Owls concluded Saturday's action with a 1-0 loss to #17 Minnesota, registering their only hitless outing of the season.

The effort comes on the heels of a previous low mark of three hits against Robert Morris set during a 2-1 loss Thursday to open 2016 Parents' Weekend play.

The Golden Gophers registed five hits for the game against Hanson to six strikeouts, with none producing scores aside from Sydney Fabian's homer in the third inning.
