The Owls went 4-for-4 as Julia Jenike picked up four at the free throw line to set a new personal best in points and Shannon tacked on two more to give FAU its biggest lead of the game, 40-30, with 5:36 left to play.

“I think you just have to keep working and getting better and better in practice every day. I thought there were some things we did much better than in any other game all season,” said Coach Kellie Lewis-Jay.
Ra’Kyra Gabriel had a career-best 13 points to go along with her nine rebounds. The sophomore forward went 4-for-5 in the third quarter alone. Sasha Cedeno had a team-best 15 points, tying her career high in threes made and attempted as she went 5-for-10 from beyond the arc.

After giving up an eight point advantage early in the third quarter, the Owls' play for the final 19:00 drew criticism from Coach Kellie Lewis-Jay afterwards.
“We completely went away from the game plan (in the second half). For everything that we did in the first half, we negated it in the second half and completely came out unfocused and unready to play,” said Lewis-Jay.
ODU also outpaced Florida Atlantic (4-17, 0-10 C-USA) 61-44 off the glass and held a 14-7 advantage in assists.
Sahsa Cedeno paced FAU's offense with a team high 20 points, but the Owls could not contain Jennie Simms who poured in a game best 41 points for Old Dominion.
FAU will hit the road again to play North Texas on Thursday at 8:00 PM before heading to Rice on Saturday for a 3:00 PM tip-off.

FAU (4-20, 0-13) shot a productive 42% from behind the arc, but lost the rebounding battle as the Lady Techsters cashed in for a 17 attempt advantage in total shots.
That paid dividends given a 45% success rate from the floor for the night which was highlighted by a 48-12 advantage in the paint.
Julia Jenike posted a 4-of-4 showing from downtown and led Florida Atlantic with 19 points. Katelyn O'Reilly added 11 points and five rebounds.
Trailing just 45-42 with 1:38 to go in the third, the Owls defense couldn't get stops in the final period as La Tech produced multiple double digit runs down the stretch en route to the win.
FAU will wrap up their two game home stand against Southern Miss on Saturday at 5 p.m.
