“Todays game was good for us but overall it was a tough weekend. The two teams as rivals really battled against each other. We played well and were fortunate enough to clinch the series against a really good team. Next weekend will be just as tough as we travel to Marshall.”
Lauren Whitt went 2-for-3 and had two RBI’s and Tatum Buckley gave up one run and five hits in six innings of relief to pick up the win.
The Owls will be back in action on Wednesday when they host UCF.

Offensively, Madisyn Palmer went 2-for-3 and scored two runs and Emily Lochten was 2-for-4 and had two RBI.
“We had a really good game today and were good in all aspects of the game. We had some critical hits, played pretty good defense and Amanda pitched a great game for us", said Coach Joan Joyce. "When you bring all of those aspects together it makes for a great outcome.”
The Owls, who have won three straight and five of their last six, will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Marshall for another weekend conference series.

Mia Olson and Emily Lochten each had a home run and Tatum Buckley gave up eight hits and four runs in the game. Buckley is now 6-4 on the season.
In the top of the second inning, Olson homered to left center for the first run of the game.
Marshall answered back with a homer of their own in the next inning to tie the game 1-1. The Owls struggled defensively in the bottom of the third and allowed the Thundering Herd to score three runs which would hold the rest of the way.
“We jump out ahead with Mia Olson hitting the home run, and then we give up a home run. In the next inning, the game kind of got away from us" said Coach Joan Joyce. "We will look to bounce back tomorrow in the doubleheader.”

“Today’s games were nothing short of exciting on both sides of the ball", said Coach Joan Joyce. "We hit the ball really well, we had 12 hits in the first game and 10 in the second. Tomorrow’s game should just be as exciting and all of the fans that were here today should come back out.”
Mia Olson went 4-for-4 with two RBI in game one while Tatum Buckley went the distance in the circle allowing four runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts.
Amanda Wilson also tossed a complete effort in game two with two runs on six hits with two strikeouts. Four Owls had two hits each.
Florida Atlantic (29-15, 9-5) has now won four straight and will go for the series sweep at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
