Early Season Predictions

Picking lowers conferences is like trying to shoot fish in a pool.  Teams are not separated that much by talent so a small change in coach and talent can flip your team 180.

This isn't the SEC where you have idea where people might finish.

UNT won 5 more games than the year before and so did ODU.

Marshall fell apart, so how can anyone predict who is going to be a 5 game improver or crash and burn?

Here's a tip, try reading out loud after you type something.  If it makes sense post it!  If not, revise.   That first sentence is a doosey!!  And if you have fish in your pool, better get a new pool guy he aint't doing his job right.

You should just for once post something meaningful in this forum…just once.

Aside from an extra s on lowers there is nothing wrong with the sentence.

Just once post something with some information. Maybe a counter point maybe some information or do want to just continue to just by my own personal grammar Nazi?

@OC40….please ignore those posts. You don't need to respond. OC is correct. Very little difference between talent pools. Coaching can make a difference. My opinion is the top teams have the top QB's or at least the best QB play. Look at Marshall after Cato left. WKU took a "no good" QB from USF and he is tearing it up. If one of our three QB's steps up , we should be fine.

Here are my thoughts. Likely to change week to week. Sept 1: Navy 34 FAU 31: Navy runs that crazy option attack and the FAU defense struggles to defend. Sept 9: Wisconsin 42 FAU 13: The Badgers grind FAU down and simply out muscle the Owls. Sept 16: FAU 31 BCC 17: FAU plays the role of the bigger, stronger, and faster team in this one. Not a dominant performance, but a much needed win. Sept 23: FAU 27 Buffalo 20: FAU takes the momentum from the BCC win and converts into a win against Buffalo. Sept 30: MTSU 35 FAU 27: MTSU has more fireworks on offense and just enough on defense to outlast FAU in what has become a pretty fierce rivalry.
Oct 7: FAU 24 ODU 21: FAU wins a close one with just enough offense and a solid enough defensive performance. Oct 21: FAU 31 UNT 21: FAU finds momentum and the offense produces. Big win as the Owls move into the second half of the season. Oct 28: WKU 42 FAU 27: WKU is just too much. FAU can put points on the board, but the defense can't handle WKU. Nov 3: Marshall 38 FAU 20: FAU struggles at home against a game Marshall team. Nov 11: FAU 31 LaTech 28: FAU goes on the road and does just enough to pull off a win. Nov 18: FAU 38 FIU 28: FAU brings home the Shula Bowl Trophy with and strings together a couple of late season wins.
Nov 25: FAU 24 UNCC 21: FAU does just enough to edge a tough Charlotte team that bested FAU in 2016. Prediction 7-5 and bowl bound off of a strong finish to the season.

Hard to say fierce rivalry with MTSU, haven't they been 9-1 over the last 10 years vs us?  We hate them, but do they hate us?  Probably not, we are just one of their preseason wins in there minds.  We need to change this trend.

Go back and look at the scores. Lots of close games in there and most are pretty chippy. Yes, MTSU does not like FAU.

GO OWLS!!!

We are 3-11 losing the last 9.  That's 6 graduating classes that never lost to FAU.  It doesn't matter if we lost each time by 1 point.  They do not consider us a rival.

One thing we have to do is win the 4th quarter. This has plagued us for years.
There's no worst feeling than walking away from the TV, or turning off the radio, or leaving the stadium after a prolonged weather delay and THINKING that we secured a victory, just to get a ESPN notification on your smartphone 10 min later telling you that we lost on a last minute play.

We win the 4Q, everything else will fall in place.
