C-USA Football: Games for Week of 9-16-17


Week three gets underway a day early when Arizona makes its way to the Sun Bowl for a Friday night matchup with UTEP.

A 12-game slate on Saturday is highlighted by the rematch of last year’s Dynacraft Conference USA Championship Game when Louisiana Tech visits WKU. The Hilltoppers repeated as league champions with a 58-44 victory last December in the highest-scoring conference championship in FBS history.

The busy Saturday schedule continues 11 non-conference matchups, including six in C-USA stadiums. The highest profile of those games is North Carolina visiting 2-0 Old Dominion.

Charlotte and Florida Atlantic face in state FCS foes, UAB welcomes first-year FBS program Coastal Carolina, Marshall brings in old MAC rival Kent State, and Southern plays a C-USA team for the second straight week, this time going to UTSA.

Rice will make the five mile trek across town to renew its rivalry with Houston and Southern Miss makes the short trip to Louisiana-Monroe.

Rounding out the slate is a trio of C-USA at Big Ten showdowns: FIU at Indiana, North Texas at Iowa and Middle Tennessee at Minnesota.
