Rick, with the  Marman situation, Coach Mac will be looking at different options. This team was just hitting it's groove. I think Saturday's game would have been a win with Kyle on the mound. Taking 2 of 3 from SoMiss would have made all the difference. But, this is baseball. It wasn't meant to be. Now we need to re group, concentrate, and keep hitting. I've been around college ball a long time. SoMiss is a very solid, maybe top 10, team. Great hitters. And they got them from all over the country.  No doubt the cream of the crop in C-USA.

FINAL:

USM 14  FAU 3

After taking the opener, the Owls lose the next two and the the series.

“We were pitching from behind all day and they made us pay,” said Head Coach John McCormack. “They were locked in and ready to go. It all starts on the mound, and I don’t think we did a good job. We were fortunate to get out of the first and second with double plays, we had let some runners on base, and then in the third, Wallner took a really good two-strike pitch and then ending up hitting one out. They deserve it, they beat us.”

David Miranda and Pedro pages each go 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead the offense. Vince Coletti (1-2) takes the loss.

FAU  will next (17-7) travel to Daytona for a Tuesday match-up against Bethune Cookman.

Hate to say it but the team played worse game by game - not good after a good game one win!! Congrats to S. Miss though, showed toughness and grit that WE did not!
