The 2019 MLB Draft has come and gone. It was a decent couple of days for the FAU program as we see a total of five Owls get drafted by professional ballclubs:

Jr. C Pedro Pages: St. Louis Cardinals (6th Round)

Jr. P Mike Ruff: Colorado Rockies (11th Round)

Jr. CF Eric Rivera: Toronto Blue Jays (14th Round)

Sr. P Vince Coletti: Oakland Athletics (17th Round)

Jr. P Blake Sanderson: Toronto Blue Jays (31st Round)

A sixth member of the 2019 Florida Atlantic University baseball team has joined the professional ranks, as on Sunday, pitcher Zach Schneider came to terms with the Boston Red Sox on a free agent deal.

Schneider, who closed out his two-year career by matching the program’s all-time record for saves (31, including a total of 16 this year that ranks fifth among all Division I closers), joins five other outgoing Owls – Vince Coletti, Pedro Pages, Eric Rivera, Mike Ruff and Blake Sanderson – who were drafted by their new respective organizations a couple of weeks ago.
