"Up Close" with Andy Czuprynski

andyczuprynskiheadshot2010

Making one of the biggest position changes this past spring, redshirt-sophomore Andy Czuprynski has found a place on the Florida Atlantic offensive line after moving from defensive tackle. Redshirting his first year on-campus and traveling to the Motor City Bowl, Czuprynski played in 11 games last season and managed 11 tackles and a forced fumble in the defensive line rotation. With the Owls losing all five offensive line starters for the upcoming 2010 season, bodies were needed for the inexperienced unit and Czuprynski made the switch.

Impressing right away in spring practice, Czuprynski instantly made a name for himself on the offensive side of the ball. Set to start at the left guard position in fall camp, he looks poised for a big year with his new unit to create holes for the FAU running game.

Playing defensive line while at Venice High School, Czuprynski had 76 tackles and 6.5 sacks his senior season en route to a district title with his team. Participating in weightlifting and track as well, he was first in the county in shot put.

Enjoying fishing, Czuprynski says he likes to spearfish in his free time away from football.

Czuprynski recently sat down with us for “Up Close”.
