Florida Atlantic women’s basketball dropped their Sun Belt opener 83-63 at ULM on Wednesday night.
“We need to be better on both sides of the ball,” said head coach Chancellor Dugan. “It was nice to see us comeback from the big deficit in the first half but we couldn’t carry over the momentum.”
The Warhawks (7-6, 1-0) jumped out to a 30-13 lead until FAU closed the first period on a 17-6 run and trailed 36-30 at the break.
However, the Owls (3-9, 0-1) could not sustain that momentum as ULM outscored FAU 47-33 in the second period.
Breana Turner continued her strong offensive performance and finished the contest with a game-high 21 points, while Viviana Penate and DaLita Scott were also in double figures for FAU.
The Owls next travel to Troy this Sunday for a 5:00 p.m. contest to be televised on the Sun Belt Network.
