NOTABLES: FAU vs Ball State



The Owls snapped a four game losing streak, and won their first non-conference road game since 2013, in a 41-32 victory against Ball State University on Saturday. Below are some notables:


- WR John Mitchell’s line for the day: 8 catches, 124 yards, and 3TD
- Mitchell's touchdown was the first since his freshman year
- Ironically, it was a 33-yard score as well, on Nov. 5, 2016 against Rice
- Mitchell (photo) is only the 2nd Owl with 3TD catches (Gent vs. FIU, 2008)
- Rashad Smith became 4th Owl ever with two fumble recoveries in a game
- The Owls’ defense picked up 5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 4 turnovers
- Da’Von Brown, Akileis Leroy, and Zyon Gilbert led the way with 8 TKL each
- QB Chris Robison (366 YDS) notched his 3rd career 300-yard passing game
- He was 33-for-41 on Saturday for 80.5 percent
- Robison’s 4 TD passes was career high, and one from FAU record
- Owl TE's: Harrison Bryant (4 REC, 87 YDS), John Raines (3 REC, 80 YDS)
- RB Larry McCammon had career high 99 rush YDS on 25 carries
- He added four receptions for 23 yards out of the backfield as well
