The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to Baylor in four sets on the final day of the Courtyard by Marriott/UCF Classic on Saturday.
The Owls (6-5) could overcome an early deficit in the first set and lost 25-12. The second set was tied at nine, but Baylor outscored FAU 16-4 the rest of the set to take the second set 25-13 and a 2-0 lead. FAU trailed 19-12 in the third set but rallied on the strength of four service aces, including two by Cintia Nightingale to end the set and take a 27-25 win.
FAU fell behind early once again in the fourth set and was unable to narrow the margin, eventually losing the set 25-16. Georgia Robinson and Christina Wallinger tied for the team lead with seven kills each. The Owls will finish their tournament schedule next weekend when they travel to Tampa for the USF Invitational.
