The Florida Atlantic volleyball team defeated ULM in three sets (25-14, 25-17, 25-18) on Saturday.
The Owls (13-17, 4-10 Sun Belt) dominated the first set. ULM pulled within three at 11-8, but a 7-0 FAU run, including two Kristyna Dzmuranova service aces and a Dzmuranova kill put the set away.
The second set was tied at 11 when Cintia Nightingale served the Owls out to a six point lead. The Owls eventually won the set 25-17, as ULM committed nine errors.
FAU started out slow in the third, allowing the Warhawks to keep it close, before going on an 11-4 match clinching run, aided by three more Dzmuranova kills.
The Owls must win their two remaining matches, and need help in the form of a UALR loss, to secure a spot in the Sun Belt Tournament.
