The FAU women’ soccer team scored two second half goals, but could not catch visiting Fresno State falling 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first half with just 10 minutes into match play.
Trailing 3-0 in the second half, the Owls would finally get on the scoreboard with two goals (56th and 74th minutes).
“We got the two goals there in the second half but we just found ourselves in too big of a hole,” said FAU coach Brian Dooley. “The pattern of giving your opponent a two-or-three goal advantage before you get settled into a game is frustrating.”
FAU out shot Fresno State 7-4 in the second frame, while also earning four corner kick opportunities.
Tamara Kesser and Brittney Nash had three shots each in the match to pace the Owls’ attack.
