Where Are They Now:  Jeff Cowans

Jeff Cowans Bio.jpg

Part two of our "Where Are They Now" segments includes a recent interview with Jeff Cowans, who played for Florida Atlantic for the 2000-2003 seasons.  He is etched within the FAU record books in a number of categories:

  • All Time Freshman Scoring Record with 425 points
  • 4th All Time Scorer with 1388 points
  • 2nd most Thee Pointers in a career with 187 made
  • 3rd most Field Goals made with 494
  • 2nd highest career Free Throw Percentage at 80.4%
  • 6th All Time in career assists

Jeff was impressed by the game day experience and recent rennovation activity at "The Burrow", but more more so with the interaction he has had with Head Coach Mike Jarvis: "Coach Jarvis is one of the nicest coaches I have met. Very warm, fun guy. A real player's coach."  The two seemed to hit it off quite well.

He is currently persuing his doctorate in podiatry, and currently holds a Masters Degree from Barry University.

Here is what he had to say during our time together:

As a long time Owl fan, it was good to see Jeff out for the game. Vividly recall the contribution he made towards the tournament run we all enjoyed back in 2001-02. Very happy to hear he is doing quite well with his continued persuit of academic excellence.  He is a man of character.  Having been a very successful player, hope he continues to stay involved with the program as a mentor.
