FAU Football Breaking Ticket Sales Records

Unprecedented excitement continues to build for the 2015 Florida Atlantic University football season. The FAU ticket sales team is setting single-season and multi-game pack sales records on a weekly basis.

“Last year we were able to showcase a new and exciting brand of FAU football,” said Pat Chun, vice president and director of athletics. “The campus and community has embraced our team and Head Coach Charlie Partridge. He has begun to change the culture of FAU football, which is evident in the team’s community service efforts and academic progress. This year’s squad will include the best recruiting class in the program’s 15 year history. FAU Football is on the rise.”

New ticket sales for the 2015 season have increased by 153 percent as compared to last year. This includes season tickets, multi-game packs and group sales. Current season ticket holders were offered the opportunity to purchase individual game tickets during a special presale, which resulted in more than $110,000 in sales over a two-day period – the most successful in FAU history.

The 2015 home opener scheduled for Friday, Sept. 11 against the University of Miami has helped with that increase, with early indicators pointing toward a record crowd for that game.

“The phones have been busy the past month, and the buzz in the community as a whole is taking off,” said Brian Treiser, director of sales and services in the FAU Relationship Management Center.

“Fans are purchasing season tickets for the upcoming season instead of just single-game tickets. They are not only excited for the Miami game on Sept. 11, but are interested in the entire schedule. Having Marshall back on campus this season is a great draw, as well.”

The home schedule also features defending Conference USA-champion Marshall on Saturday, Oct. 17, as well as perennial front runners Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 14 at noon, and Rice on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 2:30 p.m. The Shula Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 31 against FIU will be decided in a game that kicks off at 3:30 p.m. The six-game home schedule is the most home games yet to be played in FAU Stadium and features the first game versus a member of a Power Five conference.

“This year’s home schedule, the growth of our football program, and our focus on recruiting local players make a 2015 home football ticket something very special,” said Charlie Partridge, FAU’s head football coach.

Single-game tickets for the home opener against Miami go on sale Monday, July 13 at 8 a.m. To purchase season tickets or a single-game ticket, call 1-866-FAU-Owls.
