FanFest a WashOut, so FAU's secret is safe

So, what was one able to glean from the 18-play FanFest scrimmage?

Well, those planning future events should consider the fact that it is August and we live in South Florida.

That means outdoor activities should be planned around the usual weather patterns, which means they should end by noon and not start until 6 p.m. That way you avoid the afternoon storms that seem to pop up at around, oh, say, 3 p.m.

What the washout means is that Czar Pelini's secret squad will remain just that until 8 p.m. on August 31, when the Owls host Wagner in the season opener.

18 plays was just not enough to get a feel for this team. Yes, the pace will be much, much faster, but we knew that in the spring.

Other than that, who knows? And good luck to Wagner as they prepare for FAU.
