Owls Sign C.J. Turman

Florida Atlantic University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Michael Curry has announced the signing of C.J. Turman.

Turman, a 6-foot-9 post player, helped Morgan County High School in Georgia to three straight regional championships and the first state title in school history as a senior. ESPN ranked Turman as the 18th best prospect in the nation at his position.

“C.J. is an athletic big man who can help us immediately on both ends of the floor,” said Curry. “With Justin [Raffington] and Kelvin [Penn] coming back, we expect great things out of our frontcourt this coming season.”

Turman joins Traevis Graham and Maceo Baston II as part of the class that will join the Owls in fall 2014.

Originally signing with Tennessee before being granted a release, Turman also had offers from Alabama, Georgia, Houston, Miami, and Mississippi.
