SERIES CAPSULE: FAU vs Charlotte - May 13th - 15th, 2022
Game two of the FAU vs Charlotte Series has been suspended in the top of the 2nd inning with the Owls trailing 4-3 with one out.
Florida Atlantic took a 3-0 lead behind a two run homer from Dylan Goldstein, with Jackson Ross immediately adding a solo shot of his own thereafter.
Earning the start, LHP Max Martzolf worked around a pair of walks and a hit-by-pitch in the first inning to keep the 49ers at bay, but in the second trip to the plate Charlotte loaded the bags with a lead off walk and two singles which resulted in an eventual grand slam.
Game two is scheduled to resume at 9:30 am Sunday, and game three is scheduled to begin approximately thirty minutes after the conclusion of game two.

Florida Atlantic (31-21, 16-11 C-USA) dropped the third and decisive game of their series with Charlotte 14-4 on Sunday night in what was a marathon day for the team.
Arriving bright and early for a 9:30 AM first pitch to conclude game two, like last night, weather was a factor and forced a later start.
Regardless, they battled through what would result in a 15 inning marathon to come away with an emotional 10-9 walk-off victory in the contest.
They would not be as fortunate in game three, in what became an unseen Sunday night cap.
Despite the lengthy day, the visiting 49ers (33-18, 16-11 C-USA) remained fresh at the plate, and delivered three home runs while the Owls' staff struggled to find a rhythm to contain them.
FAU tossed 192 pitches to that of 137 for the visitors and saw the game slip away while being outpaced 8-2 over the final three frames.
The Owls were outscored 33-17 for the three game set and will next turn their attention to the 2022 regular season finale on the road at Marshall.
While winning that series is the immediate focal point for conference seeding, it's important towards the remaining goal.
"We have to go to the C-USA Tournament and win it if we want to go to the NCAA Tournament", said Head Coach John McCormack.
