Senior Arcade?

One business that seems to do very well in south Florida is small "arcades" of slot machines for senior citizens. I don't know why but I know where I work, they opened one and then over the next year, they must have done so well that they opened two more in the same plaza. Now there are three of them and there are always people going in and out.

Senior citizens will blow hundreds of dollars at a casino/arcade but then will complain about bananas being 20 cents more than advertised. Go figure.

Anyway, the reason I bring this up is because I wonder how ludicrous it would be to consider adding one of these to Innovation Village to help finance the stadium. I wonder if Kimberly Miller and co. would have a field day with this and it would cause us some embarassment or not… although we can argue that we're serving the community, we're trying to find creative ways to finance the stadium, we already have the Lifelong Learning Center, etc

I'm just thinking that Boca has a large retirement population and I'm sure they like to gamble. We'd have to put up with more elderly on campus but if that helps us to pay off the stadium debt… right? What do you guys think?

Re: Senior Arcade?

I am not seeing that raising a lot of good feelings towards FAU.  I can see the headline…

Re: Senior Arcade?

Well, it looks like a resounding 'no' in here. Which is fine, it was just an idea.

Glad I didn't write to Angelos!
