FAU Moving on From Jim Jabir

He landed at Siena already. Wonder if it was mutual or known ahead of time.

I met and spoke with him one time.  If you remember the traveling pep rallies of a couple years ago where some of the coaches and staff would show up at different venues and do a little meet and greet as well as a q&a. Lane always showed up late, left early, and never mingled.  The WBB coach was engaging, intelligent, and polite. I thought he represented FAU amazingly well. Things didn't work out here but I wish him happiness in the future. And my guess is that this was not a surprise move.

He initiated the move.

Jim was a class act. And made the best of what he had with limited resources. It’s hard to run a WBB program in C-USA for sure. Thanks All the best to him moving forward

Not sure how someone does better than being in one of The Top MBA programs in the country with one year left in eligibility unless they don't care about academics - but good luck. My guess is Siena may be a consideration.

I stopped trying to figure out the portal. Now I just read it and move on. The reasons don't really matter. I would hate being a college coach today. All the work in recruiting, developing,  can all be thrown away  with one tweet.

They bent over backwards for this player, it's really a shame.

Really bites to see Iggy go. As Rick mentioned, don't know what she would like to accomplish academically where she could get a better deal than FAU's Sport Management MBA program. Wish her, and of course Jim, the best of luck.
