Is there any official explanation on why we always have to have a 5/7 home/road split? Why not 6/6 one year?Posted On: Feb 3rd 2014, 11:51 PM #327468
In the past before the stadium we had to schedule "money" games…the games are scheduled years in advance and therefore we are locked in unless we break the contract which would be very costly…next year we should have 6 games.

If Bo Pelini thinks FAU this year will be a cupcake game he is in for a rude awakening.Posted On: Feb 4th 2014, 8:57 AM #327472
That's all going to depend on two things:
Offensive line development
Linebacker development
At this point, we need to see more there…

Agree, we are losing a good center…that can have a huge impact on our entire offense.
Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Per FAU he's doing fine, listed on the Spring Roster.

The last time we played in 2009 we got beat 49-3. Thats a cupcake game and we were the cupcake.
I would rather be the big piece of meat Nebraska chokes on.

That UTSA team that no one has heard of finished 2nd in the West, 2nd in attendance behind only ECU, and will lead CUSA in football attendance in 2014.bmarkey said
The start of the schedule is enough to kill attendance for the rest of the year.
It is not that difficult to Schedule the Alabamas (unless you're Troy) and Nebraskas. How about going after the UCFs, USFs, Louisvilles, Rutgers, MAC teams, some of the AAC programs - even Sun Belt teams - for home and homes?
Why not get Troy back into the mix. It would love to come back to Florida, where it had traditionally gotten half of its team?
FAU is going into a season full of promise. That hype could die quickly with two blow-out losses to Nebraska and Alabama, then a disappointing loss to Tulsa (which has been good until last year). Then, suppose Wyoming surprises the Owls in Cowboy country and suddenly FAU is at 04, with a decent to good UTSA (a 1-AA move-up which no one has ever heard of, really) coming to Boca. If you win, that was what you were supposed to do. If you lose, you're at 05 and the season has crashed.
Not a pretty situation.Posted On: Feb 3rd 2014, 4:20 PM #327444
