Re: Series Thread: FAU vs North Carolina

We played respectable against a very good team. It seems the difference between the big boys and us is when the big boys need the runs, they get out there and score. Losing by one run is still an L. Lots of hits in the last two games.

Re: Series Thread: FAU vs North Carolina

Like I feared, our bullpen is suspect.  We blew two leads in two games against a formidable team.

While we should be proud of hangining in there, we should also be disappointed we couldn't keep one under control.

yah we almost had 2 of the 3, but almost doesnt count.  Hopefully the fact that we hung in against UNC will fair well once we get into conference play

I bet this is a series we look back on and say "what if we played them now".  I think we learned a lot about our weaknesses and strengths this series.

Re: Series Thread: FAU vs North Carolina

Obradovich just didn't have it today. The 9th was a disaster, but even in his 1-2-3 inning in the 8th, he didn't look particularly sharp - his second out to the warning track would have been a HR earlier in the game if the wind hadn't turned around.

On the other hand, Adam Morrison looked good in his 3.0 innings of middle relief, including striking out the side in the 6th. Nice bounce-back from Friday night's outing.

The offense looks good, as usual, holding its own in the second two games. But we have to be able to put away teams when we lead going into the 9th.

Especially with a 3 run lead!
