Whales rib was actually on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives.

In boca probably the best subs youll ever have are at La Spadas.

I think 620 subs is just as good…and they support FAU athletics.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

I know they do, but….

La Spada's is just Da Bomb IMHO.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Does Schnellie still have a restaurant in the area ?

If so, is it a decent place (I assume sports bar) ?

Nope, that particular chain closed a while ago. Shame too, I enjoyed the food and atmosphere.  :-[

I think you mentioned Burgers as well, well there is also a Five Guys burgers newly opened in Boca. I know its a chain (I think you mentioned no chains) but its a damn good burger.

Where is the best Cuban Sandwich in the Boca Raton area ?

If they are wanting a Cuban Sandwich, then go to The Cuban Cafe.

Great spot, and "mom and pop" all the way…authentic and very reasonably priced.

They also offer a milk shake, from scratch, that is sweetened with freshly milled sugar cane if you like…thanks goes to FAU SID Katrina McCormack for this tip…she mentioned it yesterday…

I know this is a little late but I have to concur. I would consider myself to be a Cuban Sandwich connoisseur and will say that The Cuban Cafe is hands down the best one you'll get. The shredded pork inside is unlike any other offering.

If your folks are still in town, and want one of the best burgers in SoFla then I say go to Le Tub on Hollywood beach, the place is a dive, on the intracoastal, and the burgers are world renowned. Also, you can check out the restaurant at the Boca Resort, they have a $100 hamburger on their menu. Can't say that I've had it but for $100 it better be good!

I was in Boca so long ago that my No. 1 piece of advice to visitors was to go to someplace else, like Fort Lauderdale. That aside, a quick note to anyone visiting the Hard Rock: Take someone who has an AAA card because you get a discount (usually 10%), which covers the tax and a little more.
