A 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Fla., Russell missed all of his senior season after suffering from a torn-ACl.
He visited Rutgers in early December, but decided on FAU today.

Just received a message from Russell, and he has told me he committed to the Owls after a visit to campus this past weekend.

"I'm going to go ahead and announce with my teammates on Wednesday, but, yes, I have committed to (Florida Atlantic)," Russell said Monday. "The campus is nice and their business school is accredited. That really got me to start thinking about them."The 6-foot-7, 253-pound tight end had visited Rutgers and Middle Tennessee State and also had offers from Miami and Louisville.
