Rated as three-star prospect, Ruff has been committed to South Florida since early July, but decided to spend the past few days in Boca Raton with the FAU coaching staff.
The offensive lineman originally gave a verbal pledge to the Bulls back when Skip Holtz was the head coach and told USFNation.com at the time that “USF was my dream offer.”
Holtz has since left the program and Willie Taggart has taken over as the head coach.
Ruff has remained committed to USF during the transition and took an official visit to campus earlier this month. He holds additional offers from Iowa State, Purdue, Cincinnati and Syracuse.
Ruff was selected in December to the Florida Class 5A All-State First Team.
Jesuit High School is the home to four Division-1 prospects this recruiting cycle including current FAU commit CB Reggie Brown. Last year DT Isaac Edwards signed with the Owls out of Jesuit.
Ruff’s highlights can be seen here.
