DT Adarrius Smith Visiting
Fleming Island defensive tackle Adarrius Smith picked up an offer from FAU a few months back, and this weekend he will be visiting Boca Raton for the first time. If everything falls in place, the lineman could soon become the Owl's latest verbal pledge for the class of 2014.
"I want to see campus before I commit," Smith said in a message.
With FAU set to open fall camp on Saturday, Smith wants to see the Owl's first practice in person. He has been in constant contact with recruiting coordinator Jeff Sims, and when an invitation was extended to visit practice, he couldn't resist.
The six-foot-2 255-pound Smith holds offers from Bethune-Cookman, Presbyterian and North Carolina Central while he has also drawn interest from mid-level schools such as UAB.
FAU has had some recent success with unofficial visitors having landed commitments from quarterback Jason Driskel, offensive lineman Joe Gold and tight end Brandon Pyler following their respective visits.
Smith's highlights can be viewed here.
