Note that all times above are CDT, so add an hour to each for EDT.
Game 4, UAB vs Southern Miss game was suspended around 1:30 this morning at the end of the 7th with UAB leading Southern Miss 3-0.
On Wednesday, it was taking about 45 minutes to turn around between games, but some of that may have been due to the weather. Fortunately, the weather looks to be as much better today, and to not to otherwise be a factor. The original schedule allowed for 3:30 between starts, which assuming 3:00 games, would allow for a more common 30 minutes between games. So, hopefully that kind of turnaround between games will be the norm today.
Although not said, I assume the resumption of Game 4 will not require a full turnaround, perhaps even as little as a mid-game dragging of the infield, rather than a full preparation with the lines, etc. Of course, the teams leaving and entering the stadium will add some time. With 2 innings to play, and the turn around prior to the resumption of this game, I am hoping that altogether not much more than an hour is added to the above schedule. In short, my estimates for when the originally scheduled games for today, other than Game 5, are an hour later than in the above tweet:
Game 5: MTSU vs Rice - 10:00 AM EDT
Game 6: ODU vs loser of UAB vs Southern Miss - 2:30 pm EDT
Game 7: UTSA vs FIU - 6:00 pm EDT
Game 8: FAU vs winner of UAB vs Southern Miss - 9:30 pm EDT
After the first delayed start of the day, the remaining start times will become dynamic. C-USA will announce, via tweets, start times, such as 30 minutes following the conclusion of the game in progress. So, check back this evening as the actual start time for Game 8 becomes more precise.
The winners of Games 7 and 8 get a day off on Friday, so a win today is huge. Our pen is still pretty fresh, with Monkman throwing 19 pitches in his 1.1 innings of work, Logan throwing 20 pitches in his 1.2 innings of work, and McGarry 16 pitches in his inning of work. In short, in order to preserve a day off on Friday, I won't be surprised to see the entire pen available today. Logan was especially sharp last night, retiring all five he faced, all on routine ground outs.
