Why would they want to go to CUSA over the AAC for basketball? AAC is in a way better place when it comes to basketball

Yeah looks that way, but that makes no sense since Wichita State is going as a basketball only school.

Could be worse guys, have seen NO comments on the following issue here or even on Yahoo Sports;

UB Reduces its Intercollegiate Sports Teams from 20 to 16 - Buffalo

Sad the way the Power 5 are gonna kill off many other football programs , or Buffalo'scare, other sports! They are raking in Million$$$$ and million$$$ but could care less about the schools in smaller conferences in America!!!!

Why should the big schools care about us?

The issue is some smaller schools try and become the big boy and spend a ton and when it doesn't work this happens.

Dodged a bullet then. We aren't even cutting it as a basketball school in CUSA. Imagine us playing basketball in the AAC?

Guys, look, we need to get used to being in CUSA for a while. Until we start winning conference championships in football at minimum (because it's not going to happen with basketball) we won't be getting any looks to move up a conference. We can all agree that the AAC is probably the next step but it's not going to happen for a while.

AAC happening any time soon probably has more to do with UCF and/or USF moving to another, bigger conference. If FAU can get better in football we would undoubtedly be a good fit to replace one of them, but with the P5 likely expanding our move is most likely to be to fill a void.  Seems to be the way it goes - teams go somewhere like the Sun Belt, then move to a CUSA because a team moved AAC when one of those teams moved somewhere else.

If that logic holds true, would FAU want to move there if the other Florida schools had moved somewhere else?

Absolutely they would want to move to the AAC for Football. It is next in line in the conference pecking order.

Unfortunately for any move, something would have to be done or a major commitment made regarding our Division 2 Basketball facility.
