Notables
Middle Tennessee enters Thursday nights match up at Roofclaim.com Arena still searching for their identity. The Blue Raiders have lost 13 straight games against Division I opponents.
This includes an 0-4 start in C-USA play, but the Blue Raiders were very competitive against Marshall, Charlotte and Old Dominion.
Head Coach Nick McDevitt is in his second season at the helm for MTSU. Prior to his arrival in Murfreesboro, McDevitt had a successful tenure as the head coach at UNC-Asheville from 2013- 2018. The team finished 11-21 last season, and is still searching for the spark former Head Coach Kermit Davis gave the team before moving on to Ole Miss.
Keep an eye on guard C.J. Jones. The junior is averaging 16 PPG, and already has seven +20 games this season. Inside, the Blue Raiders feature F Reggie Scurry (7 PPG, 6 RPG). The former Missouri State Bear is a very strong rebounder and could give the Owls troubles inside.
FAU at a Glance:
Offense - 71.4 PPG, 43% FG, 34% 3PT
Defense - 67 PPGA, 43% FGA, 33% 3PTA
Rebounding - 37 RPG Owls, 34 RPG Opponents
Notables
FAU will look to return to their winning ways after an uninspiring road loss to North Texas last Saturday. Despite falling in Denton, the Owls are off to a solid 3-1 start in C-USA play.
The Owls have been without star forward Jailyn Ingram for the last two games due to concussion like symptoms. Ingram's return to action against MTSU is probable. The injury has opened the door to more minutes for true freshmen Dardan Kapiti, who is averaging 9 PPG in the the two matchups.
Senior guard Cornelius Taylor struggled against North Texas only scoring 2 points. Thursday night will be a great opportunity for the former Lincoln Memorial star to get back on track in front of the home crowd.
Latest Line: FAU -9
