Stetson at a Glance:
Offense - 55.8 PPG, 34.1% FG, 28.8% 3PT
Defense - 76.2 PPGA, 43% FGA, 37.6% 3PTA
Rebounding - 33.3 RPG Hatters, 42.5 RPG Opponents
Notables
Just a month ago, the Hatters were pegged to finish third in the ever-entertaining Atlantic Sun Conference. Those standings included generating the second most first-place votes with two. Despite this, the Hatters own a winless record that includes an embarrassing loss to Division II Emanuel College, a private liberal arts institution in Northeast Georgia with less than a thousand students.
Stetson's most recent scheduled would have most likely produced their first win of the campaign. Yet Florida College, an NAIA program in the Tampa suburbs, called the game off last minute because an FC player tested positive for COVID-19 during the pregame. In their most recent actual game, SU lost to USF 73-62.
Stetson's lowly offense runs solely off a pair of guards. Rob Perry and Chase Johnston. Perry, the defending A-Sun Freshmen of the Year leads the team with 13.8 PPG. Johnston, a Boca Raton native who lead Fort Lauderdale's Westminster Academy to a 2019 state championship, is not far behind with 13.3 PPG.
FAU at a Glance:
Offense - 86.3 PPG, 47.5% FG, 42.4% 3PT
Defense - 59.8 PPGA, 39.2% FGA, 33.8% 3PTA
Rebounding - 43.2 RPG Owls, 33.6 RPG Opponents
Notables
FAU's four-game win streak hits the road following a 112-49 thumping over Florida Memorial, an NAIA program in Miami Gardens. Six Owls scored in the double-digits in the win. Michael Forrest paced the team with 15 points in just 18 minutes of action. As a team, the Owls shot 55% from the field and 59% from three.
Forward Jailyn Ingram is still the team leader in points and rebounds with 14.2 and 6.5 per game, respectively. Minnesota transfer BJ Greenlee is not far behind with 11.3 PPG, which is boosted by his team-leading 61.5% 3PT shooting. Following his strong game last week, Michael Forrest becomes the third Owl to average double-digits. The guard from Blanche Ely now owns a PPG of 10.7
As a team, the Owls rank 35th nationally in PPG and 29th nationally in RPG. Head Coach Dusty May wants his team to be in the top-25 nationally along the offensive glass. So far, it is mission accomplished as FAU ranks 13th in the nation.

Owls are in a fight in DeLand as the Hatters are just draining their three-pointers. But in other news, Jailyn Ingram is good at basketball. Three Stetson defenders in his way, yet @2easyJ_ still finds a way to score 😳😳 pic.twitter.com/WZ4vZWIng6
Here come the Owls! @KOBNelly brings #FAU within a possession of #Stetson with this gorgeous three.

The freshman from New York with back-to-back and-one opportunities! He's showing great determination and strength down low tonight despite the size difference against #Stetson's bigs.

Stetson to inbound with 2:41 remaining.

The Owls (4-3) see their four-game win streak snapped in DeLand. FAU was doomed with uncharacteristically bad showings along the arc (3-18) and on the glass (40-26).@karlis_silins: Team High 16 PTS.
