An underrated contributor to FAU's victory over FIU: Dante Visconti. He went two innings, allowing no runs, no runs, and four hits after being scratched from his usual spot in the starting lineup. He gets the win in the game he was supposed to start.

The Owls are able to get two hits in the bottom of the fourth after going the first three with just one. That gives them the lead.

FAU Baseball asserted their dominance over FIU, winning both games of their Sunday doubleheader. In game three (the first of the doubleheader), CF Jackson Wenstrom ended it with a ninth-inning walk-off sacrifice fly to give the Owls a 9-8 victory. In game four (the second of the doubleheader), SP Javi Rivera led FAU to a 3-1 victory with an electric complete game.

The Rundown
  • FAU's weapon of choice during the doubleheader was the walk. The Owls had 12 bases on balls in the two games, six in each game.
  • The Owls struggled to hit with runners in scoring position, going 4-18 (.222).
  • Javi Rivera made the difference in game one, allowing just four hits and no runs after giving up a first-inning home run.
  • FAU batters were very disciplined at the plate in game four, striking out just four times. In game three they struck out eight times.
  • The Owls had struggles with the bases loaded, hitting just 1-5 (.200) with the bases loaded. This included a bases-loaded, one-out scenario where the Owls only got one run via a walk in game four.
  • Javi Rivera was incredibly accurate with his pitches, throwing just 43 balls to his 76 strikes.

"He's a tough kid, man. He's really turned it on during conference play. The impressive thing is that the beginning of the season didn't turn out the way he wanted it, but he's really turned it up." -Head Coach John McCormack on Javi Rivera

The Owls will head to Bowling Green, Kentucky to face off against WKU on  Friday, May 7. The first pitch of Friday's game will be at 6:00 p.m. EST and it will be broadcast on C-USA TV.
