UAB 31 #13 BYU 28
The Blazers defeated their highest ranked opponent in program history as UAB topped No. 13 BYU 31-28 in the Independence Bowl on Saturday. The victory was the Blazer's fourth win over a nationally ranked opponent and their second bowl victory in school history.
UAB finishes the 2021 season at 9-4 overall, marking the third time in the last four seasons UAB has won at least nine games. BYU finishes the season and 10-3.
Quarterback Dylan Hopkins set an Independence Bowl record for completion percentage (19-of-23, .826) and finished the game with 189 yards and three touchdowns. His final touchdown to Trea Shropshire came on 4th-and-7 with 6:17 remaining in the fourth quarter which ultimately proved to be the game-winning score.
Sophomore sensation DeWayne McBride ran for 183 yards and a touchdown, helping UAB outgain the nation's 17-ranked offense 412-394. McBride finished his sophomore campaign with 1,371 rushing yards – the third most in a single season at UAB, and 13 touchdowns – the second most.

#16 ULL 36 Marshall 21
Louisiana Lafayette racked up 20 fourth-quarter points to register a 36-21 comeback win over Marshall in the 2021 New Orleans Bowl Saturday evening at the Superdome.
The Ragin' Cajuns' Emani Bailey rushed for 94 yards and two scores, while quarterback Levi Lewis threw for 270 yards and a touchdown and piled up 74 more on the ground.
Marshall was led by running back Rasheen Ali, who had 20 carries for a Marshall bowl-record 160 yards and three touchdowns, while defensive end Owen Porter also tied the Thundering Herd's top bowl mark with four tackles for loss.
The Thundering Herd finished this season at 7-6, while ULL completed its campaign at 13-1.

Old Dominion 17 Tulsa 30
The Golden Hurricane (7-6) take down the Monarchs (6-7), and C-USA moves to .500 at 3-3 with two more Bowl games remaining.
Both contests are winnable with UTSA set to battle San Diego State tomorrow at 7:30 PM EST, and North Texas taking on Miami OH Thursday at 3:30 PM EST.
#24 San Diego State 38 UTSA 24
San Diego State (12-2) scored 17 unanswered points over the midway point of the game to erase a 14-7 deficit and cruise to a 38-24 victory over UTSA in the Frisco Bowl on Tuesday night.
The Roadrunners (12-2) were without over a dozen regular players due to injury, illness, and COVID protocols, and also missed leading rusher Sincere McCormick and cornerback Tariq Woolen who forwent the contest to prepare for the NFL draft.
The Aztecs edged out UTSA in both passing (+62) and rushing (+33) yards.
Conference USA is now 3-4 for the 2021 bowl season with one more game remaining. North Texas will take on Miami (OH) on ESPN Thursday at 3:30 PM EST.
