St Thomas RB Gemari Sands Joins Commits to FAU Class of 2023

Class of 2023 running back pledge Xavier Terrell will see a familiar face on the practice fields when he arrives in Boca Raton as fellow St Thomas Aquinas speedster Gemari Sands decided to join him on Wednesday night.

Sands garnered the interest of Deion Sanders at Jackson State, FSU, Pittsburgh, Colorado, and in state rival FIU before ultimately choosing Florida Atlantic as his future home.

Sharing carries, Sands has reeled off 247 yards in six games for Aquinas this year with four scores to his credit. He's produced a healthy 8.0 yards per attempt as well, and has averaged 9.9 yards for his entire high school career.

A multi-threat player, Sands also has 131 receiving yards, with 13.4 per yards catch overall and one touchdown.
