Following a season like we’ve never seen before, Conference USA begins its 27th football season on Saturday night, opening the 2021 campaign.
UTEP, the only program in action during Week 0 for C-USA, kicks off its season when the Miners travel to Las Cruces to take on New Mexico State on August 28th at 10:30 PM EST.
All 14 C-USA programs will be in action the following week in a busy four-day stretch for the conference. Defending C-USA champion UAB opens Week 1 in the national spotlight on ESPN on Wednesday, Sept. 1, when they take on Jacksonville State in the Cramton Bowl in Mobile, AL.

UTEP 30 New Mexico State 3
UTEP (1-0) looked to be in midseason form as the Miners dominated NM State (0-1), 30-3, on Saturday at Aggie Memorial Stadium in the 98th meeting of the Battle of I-10.
UTEP claimed the Brass Spittoon and Silver Spade traveling trophies for the first time since 2016, while it marked the first win for the Miners in Las Cruces since the 2015 season. The announced attendance at Aggie Memorial Stadium was 19,034.
UTEP compiled 452 yards of total offense on the night, while only being forced to punt twice in the game. The Miners were a perfect 4-for-4 in the red zone.
The 190 total offensive yards by NM State marked the least yards allowed by a Miner defense since Oct. 25, 2014, at UTSA. The three points allowed by the Miners is the least allowed to NM State since shutting out the Aggies in 2004.
