Week five will see a reduction in the number of overall games, as eight teams will be facing off in Conference USA tilts. FIU and Western Kentucky are the lone asides, who will be in FBS non-conference action. LA Tech is on a bye.
There are a couple games of note which could have significant standings impact potential down the line (*). Below is the full schedule for the week, which begins on Friday night with the Road Runners taking on the Blue Raiders, who are fresh off an upset of Miami.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30
*UTSA at Middle Tennessee (CBSSN) 7:30 pm
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1
*Florida Atlantic at North Texas (ESPN+) 4 pm
UTEP at Charlotte (ESPN3) 6 pm
Troy at WKU (ESPN+) 7 pm
UAB at Rice (ESPN+) 7:30 pm
FIU at New Mexico State (FLO Sports) 8 pm

They will be without EJ Chism, who had 169 yards on just two catches against Miami, which is obviously a substantial threat loss.
They are down 10-0 with 4:14 to play in the first quarter.

MTSU defender just got ejected for lowering his helmet and hitting HIS OWN PLAYER.

UTSA 31 MTSU 20
The Blue Raiders connect on a FG as time expires.
Roadrunner QB Frank Harris is 16-of-19 for 300 yards.
SOOO glad we don't play them this year.

They now trail 38-30 with 10:32 to play.
This would be why the Owls have now become underdogs against them.
Everyone ragged on the administration for extending Stockstill's contract, including fans.
Joke is on them.

UTSA 45 MTSU 30
The Blue Raiders allow the late TD with no other option than to try and score quickly then kick on sides.
