It's truly an amazing performance from a numbers standpoint.

People (not here) just don't seem to understand how deep C-USA is and how hard it s to do something like what he did. Very good defensive conference overall. I think it's the most underrated conference in college hoops.

Thursday Feb. 16th


MTSU 74  No. 25 Florida Atlantic 70

  • Middle Tennessee dominated Florida Atlantic in transition with 23 fastbreak points, including 17 in the second half. The Blue Raiders also recorded double-digit steals (10) for the 10th time this season.


North Texas 72  LA Tech 62

  • North Texas outscored LA Tech in the paint by a 48-22 margin. The Mean Green were led in that category by big-man Abou Ousmane, who scored 16 of his game-high 20 points down low.


Charlotte 68  WKU 64 (OT)

  • Charlotte knocked down a season-high 14 three-pointers to complete the season sweep of WKU. Aly Khalifa shot 6-14 from deep to produce a career-high 24 points.


UTSA 84  Rice 79

  • UTSA shot 52.5 percent as a team, marking the highest clip against a Division I opponent since Feb. 27, 2021. John Buggs III and Josh Farmer each shot 8-10 from the field to combine for 41 points.


UAB 79  UTEP 66

  • UAB’s offense shone once again as the Blazers shot 52.9 percent both from the field and from three-point range. Jelly Walker posted a game-high 22 points on 8-15 shooting and 4-7 from long range.

C-USA Basketball Saturday, Feb. 18

Charlotte 74, at LA Tech 67

  • Charlotte earned its first win in Ruston in program history behind a second-straight 20-point outing for Aly Khalifa, who tallied 22 points on 9-13 shooting and 4-6 from three.


UAB 83, at UTSA 78

  • Jelly Walker was responsible for UAB’s final 10 points, giving him 25 on the night as the Blazers overcame a 12-point deficit. The win secured UAB’s fifth 20-win season in the last six campaigns.


Middle Tennessee 69, FIU 58

  • Middle Tennessee outscored FIU 14-0 over the final 6:28 of the game. The Blue Raiders’ defense held the Panthers to 0-9 shooting while forcing four turnovers and swatting four FIU shots in that span.


Rice 83, Western Kentucky 77

  • Rice’s Quincy Olivari dropped a season-high 34 points, including 20 in the first half. It marked his second-highest career scoring output behind a 35-point game against Houston Baptist on Dec. 5, 2020.


North Texas 80, at UTEP 72 (OT)

  • North Texas shot 14-15 from the field over the final 10 minutes of regulation and in overtime to overcome an 11-point deficit. Tylor Perry, Rubin Jones and Matt Stone each shot 3-3 in that stretch.

Charlotte’s Aly Khalifa and Rice’s Mekhi Mason earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2022-23 C-USA Players of the Week awards are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.

Khalifa grabs his first Player of the Week honor after leading Charlotte (16-11, 7-9 C-USA) to a pair of wins last week. He averaged 23 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while shooting 53 percent from the field (18-34) and 50 percent from three-point range (10-20).

Mason picks up his fourth Freshman of the Week award after averaging 17 points and five rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Owls (17-10, 8-8 C-USA). On the week, he shot 58 percent from the field (11-19) and 71 percent from three-point range (5-7).

C-USA MBB Thursday, Feb. 23

Florida Atlantic 106, UTSA 66

  • Florida Atlantic’s 106 points are the most against a Division I opponent since the Owls defeated FIU 107-63 on Jan. 16, 2021. Seven FAU players finished in double digits, led by 19 from Michael Forrest.


UTEP 87, at FIU 82


  • UTEP’s Shamar Givance recorded his fourth 10-assist double-double of the year with a game-high 22 points and 10 dimes. It marked the second against FIU after he had 15 and 10 back on Jan. 19th.



Charlotte 55, North Texas 49

  • Lu’Cye Patterson accounted for 17 of Charlotte’s 25 bench points, including 15 of the team’s final 24 points. His layup with 32 seconds left gave the 49ers a five-point advantage.


UAB 85, Rice 57

  • UAB’s Jelly Walker enjoyed a career performance on senior night, finishing with 32 points on 10-19 shooting and 6-14 from three. He added eight assists, four rebounds and a steal.


WKU 76, LA Tech 66

  • WKU rode a hot start to victory, scoring 41 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and from three in the opening period.

C-USA MBB Saturday, Feb. 25

Florida Atlantic 75, UTEP 49

  • FAU claimed its first C-USA regular season crown and sealed the top seed in the C-USA Basketball Championships with a dominating win on Saturday.


Charlotte 70, Rice 54

  • Charlotte’s Brice Williams recorded his first career double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the 49ers to their fourth straight victory.


Middle Tennessee 63, LA Tech 49

  • In the first half of Middle Tennessee’s win over LA Tech, the Blue Raiders shot 50 percent as a team and limited the Bulldogs to 24 percent shooting and just one made three on 12 attempts.


UTSA 95, FIU 91

  • UTSA recorded 24 second-chance points on 20 offensive rebounds in a comeback victory over FIU. Jacob Germany led the way with a career-high seven offensive rebounds.


UAB 72, at WKU 60

  • Known more for its offense, UAB’s defense stepped up on Saturday, forcing 14 turnovers and tallying 10 steals. The Blazers cashed in with 17 points off turnovers.

Charlotte’s Brice Williams and FIU’s Jayden Brewer earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2022-23 C-USA Players of the Week awards are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.

Williams grabs his second Player of the Week honor after helping the 49ers (18-11, 9-9 C-USA) extend their winning streak to four games. He averaged 19.5 points and nine rebounds while shooting 46 percent from the field, 57 percent from three and 90 percent from the free-throw line.

The third different Panther rookie to garner a Freshman of the Week award, Brewer averaged 18.5 points on an eye-popping 80 percent mark from the field to go with four rebounds per game and a trio of blocks.

LA Tech 77, FIU 76 (OT)

  • Five days after recording his first career double-double, LA Tech’s Kenny Hunter once again achieved the feat with 13 points and 13 rebounds on Thursday.


North Texas 64, Middle Tennessee 50

  • North Texas shot 25-30 (83.3 percent) from the free-throw line, led by Tylor Perry, who became the first C-USA player to go 14-for-14 from the charity stripe since Nov. 19, 2021.


Florida Atlantic 103, at Rice 74

  • Florida Atlantic has won its last three games by an average of 31.7 points following a 29-point victory over Rice. Nicholas Boyd led the Owls with a game and career-high 21 points.


UTSA 78, Charlotte 73

  •  - UTSA closed its regular season with three wins in the final five games, and Jacob Germany logged his league-leading ninth double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.


WKU 73, at UTEP 68

  • WKU shot 59.2 percent (29-49) as a team on Thursday, led by Dayvion McKnight, who converted 10-16 from the field for a game-high 24 points.

The scenarios are crazy to figure out but Charlotte can lock up the 5th seed with a win. Outside of that, my head is spinning!
