Matulia helped lead the offensive charge, hitting .389 (7-for-18), with four home runs and driving in 10. Over the first three games of the week, the senior belted four home runs including a two-homer day in Friday’s win over Nicholls. The Houston native accounts for five of the teams eight home runs this season.
Miller made a pair of relief appearances for the Roadrunners, who run-ruled Houston on Tuesday 12-2 and took three of four from Saint Mary’s (CA) over the weekend. He picked up the win in Tuesday’s victory logging two innings, allowing no runs, no walks and just two hits. Miller then recorded a save on Saturday as he entered the game in the sixth and went on to toss four scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out five Gael batters. In his two outings, the junior right-hander held opponents to a .105 batting average. The Preseason All-Conference member boasts a 1.00 ERA through his first nine innings of work in the 2023 season.
